You can now change your KEC password online, from anywhere, on any device. If you forgot your password, or it expires, follow the steps or watch the video below to set a new password.
Passwords must meet these requirements:
- Should not be re-used anywhere
- Can't be a password you have used recently
- Can't contain your name or parts of your name or email address
- Must be at least 8 characters in length
- Must include at least 3 out of these 4 character types:
- Upper case letters
- Lower case letters
- Numbers
- Special characters (symbols. i.e. ?!@#$%^&)
1. Browse to the Microsoft 365 login page: https://portal.office.com/
2. Enter your email address and click "Next"
3. Click "Forgot my Password"
4. Confirm your email in the (1) "User ID" field, and enter the (2) verification code
Neither are case sensitive. If you're having trouble reading the verification code, click the speaker icon to hear the code read aloud, or you can click the refresh button for a new code.
5. Verify by phone call or text message
You have several options on how to proceed. Pick one of the options to verify the phone number on file for your account that matches the last 2 digits shown.
(1) Text my mobile phone: This option will text you a code that you'll enter in the "Enter your verification code" box.
(2) Call my mobile phone: This option calls the mobile phone. Answer and follow the recorded instructions.
(3) Call my office phone: Same as above, except it calls your office phone. You can only use this option if you have a direct-dial number assigned to your extension.
If you can't complete this step because you don't recognize the phone number, please contact the IT Help Desk at (830) 254-9297 (or extension 444) to update your contact info. Once IT updates your contact info, wait 30 minutes, and try again.
6. Set New password
If you entered your phone number correctly (and your contact info is up to date), you'll receive a call or text message with instructions, and you'll be taken to the following page to set a new password.
Password Requirements:
- Should not be re-used anywhere
- Can't be a password you have used recently
- Can't contain your name or parts of your name or email address
- Must be at least 8 characters in length
- Must include at least 3 out of the 4 character types: Upper case letters, lower case letters, numbers, and symbols
Click "Finish".
It may take 15-30 minutes before your new password takes effect across all KEC services.
